Tokyo Stories Origins

This is a publishing project that has its origins in 2013 when I first came to visit Japan. Back then, I was in a bit of a blue mood and had planned to go on a road trip from Istanbul via Iran to Tiflis. However, the world's fate, with all its civil wars and hostage crisis and Islamic terrorism at the time, made me change my mind and go for Tokyo. How lucky it would turn out to be.

Or maybe it started even earlier when this friend I had in elementary school had a Tomica play set with multiple levels, cars, and crazy sounds. How much more exciting than the wooden Montesorri blocks I had at home!

Or it was my Super Nintendo Entertainment System. After years of visiting "friends" I didn't really like to play on their console, I had successfully begged for and then played endless hours of Super Mario World, A Link to the past and Secret of Evermore.
It clicked when I stepped out of an Air France A380 in Narita and boarded the local Keisei train to head for Asakusa. All these vague memories and feelings from the past that somehow had followed me since childhood slowly became a reality.
In any case, in 2023, my family moved to Tokyo and started a grand new adventure in the city. This publication will be a primarily private photo update and diary for our friends and families, so that most posts will be hidden from the public. However, there might be a chance I'm more inclined to publish materials for public consumption, which is why I'm writing this post.
In any case, がんばてand thanks for reading.
